The Top of the island!
The new upstairs “Starlight Loft” (Room 3) is the only room at that level, offering best privacy and the utmost panoramic views of Paterson Inlet. Quiet and peaceful, away from the busy bay you feel being back to nature. Even being close – this way you don´t hear any noise from the village. Facing SW you see the sunset as well as sunrise the other way, getting the morning sun thru the roof window and in the big bathroom with spacious shower and separate bath tub. The big Panorama window in front of your bed offers views to the sea and Ulva Island (lots of birds are transiting back an forth), the mountain ranges, to the skies and stars and towards Aurora Australis Southern Lights when we are lucky to have one happening. But even without that – the stars are just amazing in our Dark Sky Sanctuary, especially here, our street having no street lamps, no light pollution.
Of course the Starlight Loft has a treetop balcony deck too – king of the castle!
The Bed & Breakfast rate Room 3 – “Starlight Loft” is $795 per couple/ room per night including breakfast. If you wish enquire for add-ons – subject to availability.
The Lodging deluxe rate Room 3 “Starlight Loft” is NZ$ 1175 per couple/ room per night, accommodation including:
– gourmet breakfast
– 3 course dinner – The Perfect Dinner – at least every second day (and another option eg buffet style supper with nice treats for the other day) find a sample menu below “Dining”
(if you are dining with us several times there are of course different menus). Drinks at additional cost.
– a shorter guided activity – We are happy to take you on a garden tour about NZ ferns, orchids and trees with birdlife visiting. Or you might enjoy a cooking class? We are flexible with any other ideas as well, just let us know what you are interested in.
– sauna – The infra-red Biosauna is in a private spot, a hut amidst native vegetation looking out into native forest. A temperature of 40-45 degrees makes you sweat slowly – great for skin, detoxination and general wellness!

The spacious contemporary Lodge house has class and charm, a stunning high roof and ceiling of rimu. You will find an elegant blend of European design, antique and nature style. The generous guest lounge offers exclusive panoramic sea views, access to the gardens, a wood fire, lovely dining area and comfortable seating to relax. Not to forget, we just added another beautiful feature – at night time you find now some subtle but delightful illumination in the stunning garden and bush vegetation, if you wish. Tea and Coffee making facility with Espresso Machine for your use.
